Narrative:

On a local flight near weatherford, tx, I spotted a short n-s grass runway located approximately 5 mi northeast of town. I approached the field on a downwind leg from south to north. As I crossed abeam, mid field I noticed a hangar just to the west of the runway. The strip looked well maintaining so I decided to land. Over the runway threshold a power line came into view approximately 30 ft in front of me. As soon as I recognized the line, I pushed the nose over in an attempt to miss it. A second later I heard a 'pop.' this had occurred about 30 min before sunset, and there were no hazard markings on the power lines which were directly over the north end of this short runway. After touchdown I exited the aircraft and thoroughly examined it. Other than some very minor superficial cosmetic scratches on the aircraft, it looked perfectly ok. There was no structural damage caused. After inspecting the aircraft I took off and flew home. This could have been avoided if the pwrlines had been marked.

Title: SMA HITS OBSTRUCTION PWRLINE UNMARKED ON FINAL APCH INTO PVT ARPT.

Narrative: ON A LCL FLT NEAR WEATHERFORD, TX, I SPOTTED A SHORT N-S GRASS RWY LOCATED APPROX 5 MI NE OF TOWN. I APCHED THE FIELD ON A DOWNWIND LEG FROM S TO N. AS I CROSSED ABEAM, MID FIELD I NOTICED A HANGAR JUST TO THE W OF THE RWY. THE STRIP LOOKED WELL MAINTAINING SO I DECIDED TO LAND. OVER THE RWY THRESHOLD A PWR LINE CAME INTO VIEW APPROX 30 FT IN FRONT OF ME. AS SOON AS I RECOGNIZED THE LINE, I PUSHED THE NOSE OVER IN AN ATTEMPT TO MISS IT. A SECOND LATER I HEARD A 'POP.' THIS HAD OCCURRED ABOUT 30 MIN BEFORE SUNSET, AND THERE WERE NO HAZARD MARKINGS ON THE PWR LINES WHICH WERE DIRECTLY OVER THE N END OF THIS SHORT RWY.
