Narrative:
Departed clow (IC5) approximately AM30, checked for radio transmission -- operation ok. Call control tower at dupage for permission to fly- over -- controller gave ok. Advised bound northwest to delavan (C59). When clear of fly-over could not make any transmission, and after checking equipment, realized I had electrical failure. Made return flight, and tried to avoid aurora (arrival) and dupage (dpa) by flying between them back to clow, however, I was unable to contact either tower, nor was my transponder effective.

Title: SMA HAS PRIMARY ELECTRICAL SUPPLY PROB. POSSIBLE UNAUTH PENETRATION OF D AIRSPACE ON THE RETURN LAND.
Narrative: DEPARTED CLOW (IC5) APPROX AM30, CHKED FOR RADIO XMISSION -- OP OK. CALL CTL TWR AT DUPAGE FOR PERMISSION TO FLY- OVER -- CTLR GAVE OK. ADVISED BOUND NW TO DELAVAN (C59). WHEN CLR OF FLY-OVER COULD NOT MAKE ANY XMISSION, AND AFTER CHKING EQUIP, REALIZED I HAD ELECTRICAL FAILURE. MADE RETURN FLT, AND TRIED TO AVOID AURORA (ARR) AND DUPAGE (DPA) BY FLYING BTWN THEM BACK TO CLOW, HOWEVER, I WAS UNABLE TO CONTACT EITHER TWR, NOR WAS MY XPONDER EFFECTIVE.
