Narrative:

On a vector to intercept the runway 9L localizer at pbi we came out of the clouds at 4200 ft MSL. We saw a hang glider at our altitude slightly to the left. We made a quick jink to the right and passed about 200 ft from the hang glider. We reported the event to the approach controller. On the ground we filed a near miss report with the ATC facility. We told the local ATC facility that we felt there should be NOTAMS and/or ATIS reports of hang glider activity on the localizer course. The local ATC facility implied that this was an almost regular event (hand glider activity on the localizer course) and seemed reluctant to file our official near-miss report.
