Narrative:
Taxi into gate Y mia struck aircraft cart. Taxi from spot X to Y following line throughout, I observed the proper number of wing men and saw that the area in my mind was clear. The lead-in man continued to direct me in the normal manner. When we approached the jetbridge I proceeded in a cautious manner. The guideman raised his right wand and pointed to the jetbridge, his left continuing to direct me forward. Then he brought both wands together and gave me a slow xwand stop. I applied the brakes and the aircraft stopped as he crossed the wands. At the same instant we felt a bump. I set the parking brake and signaled to have someone plug into the interphone. Someone complied and said we had hit an air conditioner cart with the #1 engine. I then asked him to put a ramp supervisor on the headset before we moved the aircraft. Ramp personnel came on the interphone and directed us to release brakes. We were pushed back a short distance, then pulled us forward to a position about where we originally stopped the aircraft.

Title: AN ACFT ENG COWL HIT A CART WHILE PARKING AT THE GATE.
Narrative: TAXI INTO GATE Y MIA STRUCK ACFT CART. TAXI FROM SPOT X TO Y FOLLOWING LINE THROUGHOUT, I OBSERVED THE PROPER NUMBER OF WING MEN AND SAW THAT THE AREA IN MY MIND WAS CLR. THE LEAD-IN MAN CONTINUED TO DIRECT ME IN THE NORMAL MANNER. WHEN WE APCHED THE JETBRIDGE I PROCEEDED IN A CAUTIOUS MANNER. THE GUIDEMAN RAISED HIS R WAND AND POINTED TO THE JETBRIDGE, HIS L CONTINUING TO DIRECT ME FORWARD. THEN HE BROUGHT BOTH WANDS TOGETHER AND GAVE ME A SLOW XWAND STOP. I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE ACFT STOPPED AS HE CROSSED THE WANDS. AT THE SAME INSTANT WE FELT A BUMP. I SET THE PARKING BRAKE AND SIGNALED TO HAVE SOMEONE PLUG INTO THE INTERPHONE. SOMEONE COMPLIED AND SAID WE HAD HIT AN AIR CONDITIONER CART WITH THE #1 ENG. I THEN ASKED HIM TO PUT A RAMP SUPVR ON THE HEADSET BEFORE WE MOVED THE ACFT. RAMP PERSONNEL CAME ON THE INTERPHONE AND DIRECTED US TO RELEASE BRAKES. WE WERE PUSHED BACK A SHORT DISTANCE, THEN PULLED US FORWARD TO A POS ABOUT WHERE WE ORIGINALLY STOPPED THE ACFT.
