Narrative:
Airline aircraft has right engine loss of oil pressure on landing in detroit. Problem found was loss of oil quantity due to breather test port cap was off and in engine cowl. This engine was ran in atl test cell after heavy maintenance. Myself and another mechanic (mr. Abc) ran this engine. Abc installed this cap after test and engine ran again and leak checked. The sign off for this cap in the paperwork is to cover all caps installed. I signed off this step because I was the computer operator on this run. This engine was run again after installing on aircraft and leak checked again. Aircraft landed without incident. This is not a common problem. Maybe he thought he had tightened cap enough. It's hard to reach cap behind fuel manifold. Maybe if cap was torque with a torque wrench and, or safetied, this would stop any further occurrences.

Narrative: AIRLINE ACFT HAS R ENG LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE ON LNDG IN DETROIT. PROBLEM FOUND WAS LOSS OF OIL QUANTITY DUE TO BREATHER TEST PORT CAP WAS OFF AND IN ENG COWL. THIS ENG WAS RAN IN ATL TEST CELL AFTER HVY MAINT. MYSELF AND ANOTHER MECH (MR. ABC) RAN THIS ENG. ABC INSTALLED THIS CAP AFTER TEST AND ENG RAN AGAIN AND LEAK CHKED. THE SIGN OFF FOR THIS CAP IN THE PAPERWORK IS TO COVER ALL CAPS INSTALLED. I SIGNED OFF THIS STEP BECAUSE I WAS THE COMPUTER OPERATOR ON THIS RUN. THIS ENG WAS RUN AGAIN AFTER INSTALLING ON ACFT AND LEAK CHKED AGAIN. ACFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THIS IS NOT A COMMON PROB. MAYBE HE THOUGHT HE HAD TIGHTENED CAP ENOUGH. IT'S HARD TO REACH CAP BEHIND FUEL MANIFOLD. MAYBE IF CAP WAS TORQUE WITH A TORQUE WRENCH AND, OR SAFETIED, THIS WOULD STOP ANY FURTHER OCCURRENCES.
