Narrative:
On arrival to syr, cleared visual approach to runway 14 (runway 10-28 closed). Configured aircraft for landing and completed landing checklist. Gear door open light (amber) remained on. Executed missed approach. Completed abnormal checklist for gear door open light on in accordance with flight handbook. Coordinated for runway 10-28 to be opened. Executed an approach to runway 28. Landed straight ahead and stopped on runway. Maintenance teams pinned landing gear retracted gear doors and towed aircraft to gate where passenger were deplaned. Problem was determined to be a faulty latching mechanism on the left main gear door.

Title: LNDG GEAR DOOR STAYED OPEN AFTER EXTENSION OF GEAR FOR LNDG. LANDED AND HAD ACFT TOWED TO PARKING.
Narrative: ON ARR TO SYR, CLRED VISUAL APCH TO RWY 14 (RWY 10-28 CLOSED). CONFIGURED ACFT FOR LNDG AND COMPLETED LNDG CHKLIST. GEAR DOOR OPEN LIGHT (AMBER) REMAINED ON. EXECUTED MISSED APCH. COMPLETED ABNORMAL CHKLIST FOR GEAR DOOR OPEN LIGHT ON IAW FLT HANDBOOK. COORDINATED FOR RWY 10-28 TO BE OPENED. EXECUTED AN APCH TO RWY 28. LANDED STRAIGHT AHEAD AND STOPPED ON RWY. MAINT TEAMS PINNED LNDG GEAR RETRACTED GEAR DOORS AND TOWED ACFT TO GATE WHERE PAX WERE DEPLANED. PROB WAS DETERMINED TO BE A FAULTY LATCHING MECHANISM ON THE L MAIN GEAR DOOR.
