Narrative:
IMC in cruise mode at 6000 ft I experienced engine surging problems similar to vapor lock, switched tanks and engaged fuel boost pump but the problem continued. Subsequently the engine stopped and I was forced to land in a field after looking over the hwys as first option. I was in contact with fyu approach and notified FSS upon arrival at aurora police department.
