Narrative:
I was on a flight training flight with a student working on a cross country training. Another aircraft which we believe was c- 172 came from the left corner. We were heading southeast at the time. We descended quickly to avoid other aircraft. I believe, the other aircraft didn't even see us. I think the situation could have been avoided by a more aggressive scan by both aircraft. I think CFI's like myself can't stress enough the importance of continuous good scan.
