Narrative:
Right nose gear tire tread separated between speeds V1 and vr. (We thought we blew a tire and found out the tread separated after we landed.) unsure of exactly what was wrong with the nose gear, we left the gear down and did a fly-by of the tower at 200 ft AGL. Our mechanic was in the tower along with the controllers. We were advised pieces of a tire were found on the runway. We declared an emergency and requested the fire trucks. ATC and our mechanic could not determine if anything else was wrong with the nose gear. We landed uneventfully on the second approach and stopped on the runway. We were towed to the gate.
