Narrative:

On jan/wed/95 at approximately BB45Z, we were landing at dtw. Shortly after touchdown, ATC instructed us to turn right on taxiway F from runway 3R. As the PNF, I accepted the turnoff on taxiway F, however, due to snow and ice on the runway the aircraft did not slow down to a safe enough speed to turn off on taxiway F. I immediately informed ATC that we were not going to make taxiway F, and the aircraft behind was given a go around. I feel that I should not have accepted the clearance to turn off the runway until we slowed to a safe speed, however, wanting to not make another aircraft go around caused me to accept a clearance that I should not have accepted until we had slowed to a safe speed to exit the runway.
