Narrative:
GPWS terrain warning 10 NM west of har, cleared to descend from 4000 ft to 3000 ft. At 3000 ft, GPWS terrain warning escape procedure performed. At 4000 ft in clear and GPWS warning had stopped. Notified ATC of warning and new altitude. Approach control said 3000 ft was safe altitude in that area. Remainder of flight normal.

Narrative: GPWS TERRAIN WARNING 10 NM W OF HAR, CLRED TO DSND FROM 4000 FT TO 3000 FT. AT 3000 FT, GPWS TERRAIN WARNING ESCAPE PROC PERFORMED. AT 4000 FT IN CLR AND GPWS WARNING HAD STOPPED. NOTIFIED ATC OF WARNING AND NEW ALT. APCH CTL SAID 3000 FT WAS SAFE ALT IN THAT AREA. REMAINDER OF FLT NORMAL.
