Narrative:

We had a left recirculating fan on maintenance contingency order. This led us to the MEL. After reviewing the steps to be followed, we had several discussions with maintenance to see if we should resolve the problem. After some pressure by the mechanics, we decided to go. We thought we had followed all of the items in the MEL. However, when we arrived in den, the dispatcher called us and told us that we had forgotten the fact that we were to have no combustible material in the aft cargo bin. We had all overlooked this. Moral of the story is to read the MEL closely, and review it as you read the checklist, as well as make notes to yourself about special requirements.
