Narrative:
En route cun to mia was cleared to climb to FL290. Passing FL280 requested FL370. Was cleared to FL370 by havana center along with a clearance to offset 12 NM to the north. This was accomplished utilizing the omega. Passing FL310 received a TA followed by a RA. Performed RA maneuver. During maneuver saw oncoming aircraft turning to the north. Passed within 1 mi. When I asked havana what happened the controller stated the other aircraft was air carrier Y and that there was no problem. I disagree with his assessment.

Narrative: ENRTE CUN TO MIA WAS CLRED TO CLB TO FL290. PASSING FL280 REQUESTED FL370. WAS CLRED TO FL370 BY HAVANA CTR ALONG WITH A CLRNC TO OFFSET 12 NM TO THE N. WHEN I ASKED HAVANA WHAT HAPPENED THE CTLR STATED THE OTHER ACFT WAS ACR Y AND THAT THERE WAS NO PROB. I DISAGREE WITH HIS ASSESSMENT.
