Narrative:
We had our aircraft at the remote deicing site for runway 29L. After we were finished deicing we taxied forward. Due to the snow obscuring the taxiway we passed a small exit taxiway leading to approach end, and taxied to the outside of the normal taxiway. An operations truck came out, informed us we never left the pavement and removed 1 taxi light so we could make a right turn and arrive back at the approach end of runway 29L. After we were established, a dc-9 made the same error and had to be marshalled by the operations truck. Suggestion: better lighting to show the exit area from runway 29L remote deicing to the approach end of runway 29L.
