Narrative:
On approach to mci, flying the J hawk 2 arrival for mci, I missed the depicted turn to 010 degree heading and the slow to 210 KTS for aircraft landing south. My first officer and I were involved in a discussion about the state of our company's financial affairs and union activities and I had not thoroughly reviewed and briefed the STAR. Additionally, the STAR itself is cluttered and confusing.

Narrative: ON APCH TO MCI, FLYING THE J HAWK 2 ARR FOR MCI, I MISSED THE DEPICTED TURN TO 010 DEG HDG AND THE SLOW TO 210 KTS FOR ACFT LNDG S. MY FO AND I WERE INVOLVED IN A DISCUSSION ABOUT THE STATE OF OUR COMPANY'S FINANCIAL AFFAIRS AND UNION ACTIVITIES AND I HAD NOT THOROUGHLY REVIEWED AND BRIEFED THE STAR. ADDITIONALLY, THE STAR ITSELF IS CLUTTERED AND CONFUSING.
