Aircraft had a deferral, 'L2 to cockpit bell doesn't ring in cockpit' for flight lga-stl. On arrival in stl I was informed, it was not a deferrable item. From MEL available to me, it was deferrable. Flight was flown without incident. Chime was fixed at stl.
