Narrative:
Takeoff aborted at 80-85 KTS due to wind noise coming from left side window. After clearing runway, the window was checked and adjusted. Aircraft taxied back for takeoff. Pilot distraction before leaving gate caused the failure to properly close window. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter states that he started to open his window to pass something to the ground crew that had been left in the cockpit. He was distracted and never completed opening the window and consequently did not close it properly. The checklist had already been run. So the checking of the windows closed had already been done. The reporter received a call later as sfo tower was wondering why the reporter had had to abort. The reporter did not report this to his air carrier and has heard nothing further from the FAA. The reporter was flying the B-767.

Narrative: TKOF ABORTED AT 80-85 KTS DUE TO WIND NOISE COMING FROM L SIDE WINDOW. AFTER CLRING RWY, THE WINDOW WAS CHKED AND ADJUSTED. ACFT TAXIED BACK FOR TKOF. PLT DISTR BEFORE LEAVING GATE CAUSED THE FAILURE TO PROPERLY CLOSE WINDOW. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATES THAT HE STARTED TO OPEN HIS WINDOW TO PASS SOMETHING TO THE GND CREW THAT HAD BEEN LEFT IN THE COCKPIT. HE WAS DISTRACTED AND NEVER COMPLETED OPENING THE WINDOW AND CONSEQUENTLY DID NOT CLOSE IT PROPERLY. THE CHKLIST HAD ALREADY BEEN RUN. SO THE CHKING OF THE WINDOWS CLOSED HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE. THE RPTR RECEIVED A CALL LATER AS SFO TWR WAS WONDERING WHY THE RPTR HAD HAD TO ABORT. THE RPTR DID NOT RPT THIS TO HIS ACR AND HAS HEARD NOTHING FURTHER FROM THE FAA. THE RPTR WAS FLYING THE B-767.
