Narrative:
Controller giving vectors to final kept asking air carrier X if we saw metropolitan runway 21R, we didn't and asked for high runway lights. He acknowledged request and again asked if we saw metropolitan. Moments later we saw what we thought was dtw runway 21R and accepted a visual. Calling the dtw tower we reported on final and tower said he thought we were aligned to land at willow run airport. We turned left and landed at dtw on runway 21R. It would seem that I shouldn't accept any visual approachs at airports I am not extremely familiar with no matter how many times the controller asks if we see the field/airport/runway.
