Narrative:
On an instrument flight plan and receiving radar vectors for the instrument approach to M50. Mobile reported WX was 1500 ft overcast and 10 mi visibility at gulfport the WX was reported as 2000 ft broken and 10 mi. After descending to 1800 ft we were below the overcast and had the airport in sight. We received clearance for a visual approach and entered a normal pattern and as we were touching down we observed parachutes over the airport. We did not see the parachutes descend through the clouds, but they had to get there somehow. During the time we were in contact with mobile approach and the time we monitored the unicom frequency we never received an advisory that jump activity was taking place. We had received a NOTAM, but the WX being marginal we did not expect to see parachutes in front of us on final and falling all around as we taxied in. A phone call to mobile approach was not taken very well. The only thing we could get out of her was that the jump aircraft was operating VFR. The NOTAM is for parja up to 15000 ft. The area is in an airway and also an area with a lot of transient air traffic. A flight crew passing through at 12000 ft would probably not receive the NOTAM in their flight service briefing. So look out, here they come!

Title: SMT HAS SKYDIVERS DSNDING AROUND HIM ON LNDG.
Narrative: ON AN INST FLT PLAN AND RECEIVING RADAR VECTORS FOR THE INST APCH TO M50. MOBILE RPTED WX WAS 1500 FT OVCST AND 10 MI VISIBILITY AT GULFPORT THE WX WAS RPTED AS 2000 FT BROKEN AND 10 MI. AFTER DSNDING TO 1800 FT WE WERE BELOW THE OVCST AND HAD THE ARPT IN SIGHT. WE RECEIVED CLRNC FOR A VISUAL APCH AND ENTERED A NORMAL PATTERN AND AS WE WERE TOUCHING DOWN WE OBSERVED PARACHUTES OVER THE ARPT. WE DID NOT SEE THE PARACHUTES DSND THROUGH THE CLOUDS, BUT THEY HAD TO GET THERE SOMEHOW. DURING THE TIME WE WERE IN CONTACT WITH MOBILE APCH AND THE TIME WE MONITORED THE UNICOM FREQ WE NEVER RECEIVED AN ADVISORY THAT JUMP ACTIVITY WAS TAKING PLACE. WE HAD RECEIVED A NOTAM, BUT THE WX BEING MARGINAL WE DID NOT EXPECT TO SEE PARACHUTES IN FRONT OF US ON FINAL AND FALLING ALL AROUND AS WE TAXIED IN. A PHONE CALL TO MOBILE APCH WAS NOT TAKEN VERY WELL. THE ONLY THING WE COULD GET OUT OF HER WAS THAT THE JUMP ACFT WAS OPERATING VFR. THE NOTAM IS FOR PARJA UP TO 15000 FT. THE AREA IS IN AN AIRWAY AND ALSO AN AREA WITH A LOT OF TRANSIENT AIR TFC. A FLC PASSING THROUGH AT 12000 FT WOULD PROBABLY NOT RECEIVE THE NOTAM IN THEIR FLT SVC BRIEFING. SO LOOK OUT, HERE THEY COME!
