Narrative:

14 mi from grr, while on a vector towards the localizer in IMC, I lost radio contact. I flew through the localizer on the assigned heading. When I could not raise approach control and I was picking up clear ice, I decided to turn onto the localizer runway 8R and fly the approach. I then squawked 7700 and tried to raise the tower. I still couldn't raise the tower, but due to ice building I flew the approach and landed. After exiting the runway to the taxiway, I was able to raise ground control on another radio. They said they received the 7700 squawk and gave me a green light gun to land.

Narrative: 14 MI FROM GRR, WHILE ON A VECTOR TOWARDS THE LOC IN IMC, I LOST RADIO CONTACT. I FLEW THROUGH THE LOC ON THE ASSIGNED HDG. WHEN I COULD NOT RAISE APCH CTL AND I WAS PICKING UP CLR ICE, I DECIDED TO TURN ONTO THE LOC RWY 8R AND FLY THE APCH. I THEN SQUAWKED 7700 AND TRIED TO RAISE THE TWR. I STILL COULDN'T RAISE THE TWR, BUT DUE TO ICE BUILDING I FLEW THE APCH AND LANDED. AFTER EXITING THE RWY TO THE TXWY, I WAS ABLE TO RAISE GND CTL ON ANOTHER RADIO.
