Narrative:

Approaching gru PF level at 7000 ft, captain operating FMC for approach, international officer talking to company. First officer thought he heard clearance to 4000 ft, language is very difficult to understand. At 6400 ft approach told us to maintain 7000 ft twice -- aircraft corrected to 7000 ft. Crew does not know for sure if we busted altitude or they amended clearance. Too much distraction with all 3 crew doing 'required duties.' perception: FMC not user friendly and not heads up, international officer duties should be completed prior to leaving 18000 ft.
