Narrative:
We were dealing with the problem of the loss of 1 of our 2 VOR navigation radio receivers. ATC had been advised. After a time we noticed that there was no activity on ATC frequency. We finally got hold of ATC (ZKC) near vandalia, il. Apparently they had not given us our frequency changes and we got out of radio range. We had to do some maneuvering turns to get down from FL350 for our approach into stl. Loss of navigation and VHF communications, all in 1 flight, what fun.
