Narrative:

I was single pilot in an sa-227. After landing, during rollout, planned last taxiway turnoff to the left. At the point of initiating the turn, tower advised to turn left, taxi to ramp and stay with them. I acknowledged at the same time I started the turn. While using beta the aircraft pulled to the right. I could not make the turn and exited the runway onto the overrun and hit a threshold light with the propeller. If my hand had been on the steering button ie another crewmember working the radio, or tower waited to talk to me after I cleared the runway. Also the aircraft power (reverse) was way out of rig. If any one of those had been corrected, I believe this incident would not have happened.
