Narrative:
First officer flying aircraft. Flying up to 27000 ft upon level off he overshot altitude approximately 150 ft. When further climb clearance was issued to FL330, as we passed through 27825 ft controller asked if we were now out of FL280. Due to the high rate of climb and the need apparently for the controller to have our report out of FL280, to be cooperative I stated yes we were out of FL280. My call or report was slightly premature. I should have waited a few more seconds to make the report. This would allow my voice reports and altimeter readouts on the radar screen to coincide for better traffic control - I plan to be exact in the future.

Title: FLC RPTS AN OVERSHOOT OF 150 FT DURING LEVEL OFF FOLLOWING BY RPTING OUT OF HIGHER ALT DURING FURTHER CLB BEFORE ACTUALLY LEAVING ALT.
Narrative: FO FLYING ACFT. FLYING UP TO 27000 FT UPON LEVEL OFF HE OVERSHOT ALT APPROX 150 FT. WHEN FURTHER CLB CLRNC WAS ISSUED TO FL330, AS WE PASSED THROUGH 27825 FT CTLR ASKED IF WE WERE NOW OUT OF FL280. DUE TO THE HIGH RATE OF CLB AND THE NEED APPARENTLY FOR THE CTLR TO HAVE OUR RPT OUT OF FL280, TO BE COOPERATIVE I STATED YES WE WERE OUT OF FL280. MY CALL OR RPT WAS SLIGHTLY PREMATURE. I SHOULD HAVE WAITED A FEW MORE SECONDS TO MAKE THE RPT. THIS WOULD ALLOW MY VOICE RPTS AND ALTIMETER READOUTS ON THE RADAR SCREEN TO COINCIDE FOR BETTER TFC CTL - I PLAN TO BE EXACT IN THE FUTURE.
