Narrative:
On apr/sat/95 I departed beverly airport at approximately XA15 for a direct flight to nashua, nh. Ceiling and visibility were unlimited. ATIS at beverly tower announced that the tower would not open until XB00 so, I advised my intentions over CTAF and departed. I had not flown into ash for a while and checked the current sectional and noted that the nashua frequency has been changed to 134.9 (from 119.7). Also, I noted the ATIS frequency to be 125.0 instead of 125.1. On a very close chart inspection I can see that the 1 inch 125.1 (ATIS frequency) directly overlies another straight line making it extremely hard to see. On approach into the nashua area, I listened to 125.0 at about 12 mi out. Upon getting a negative ATIS, I called 134.9 at 10 mi out. I assumed that like beverly, nashua tower must be closed until XB00 since there was no reply. I called to what I believed to be CTAF at 5 mi, again at 3 mi, and again at short final into nashua. As I taxied by the control tower I noted that a controller was on duty. I was informed on the ground to report to the tower in person. I found out from ground personnel that the control tower frequency had been changed, but that change was not yet reflected in the current sectional chart. I was also told that the controller was having a very bad morning and my incident had followed an incident with a baron. The controller 'blew his stack' at me and I remained polite despite what I would term a reaction by him that I felt was abusive.

Narrative: ON APR/SAT/95 I DEPARTED BEVERLY ARPT AT APPROX XA15 FOR A DIRECT FLT TO NASHUA, NH. CEILING AND VISIBILITY WERE UNLIMITED. ATIS AT BEVERLY TWR ANNOUNCED THAT THE TWR WOULD NOT OPEN UNTIL XB00 SO, I ADVISED MY INTENTIONS OVER CTAF AND DEPARTED. I HAD NOT FLOWN INTO ASH FOR A WHILE AND CHKED THE CURRENT SECTIONAL AND NOTED THAT THE NASHUA FREQ HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 134.9 (FROM 119.7). ALSO, I NOTED THE ATIS FREQ TO BE 125.0 INSTEAD OF 125.1. ON A VERY CLOSE CHART INSPECTION I CAN SEE THAT THE 1 INCH 125.1 (ATIS FREQ) DIRECTLY OVERLIES ANOTHER STRAIGHT LINE MAKING IT EXTREMELY HARD TO SEE. ON APCH INTO THE NASHUA AREA, I LISTENED TO 125.0 AT ABOUT 12 MI OUT. UPON GETTING A NEGATIVE ATIS, I CALLED 134.9 AT 10 MI OUT. I ASSUMED THAT LIKE BEVERLY, NASHUA TWR MUST BE CLOSED UNTIL XB00 SINCE THERE WAS NO REPLY. I CALLED TO WHAT I BELIEVED TO BE CTAF AT 5 MI, AGAIN AT 3 MI, AND AGAIN AT SHORT FINAL INTO NASHUA. AS I TAXIED BY THE CTL TWR I NOTED THAT A CTLR WAS ON DUTY. I WAS INFORMED ON THE GND TO RPT TO THE TWR IN PERSON. I FOUND OUT FROM GND PERSONNEL THAT THE CTL TWR FREQ HAD BEEN CHANGED, BUT THAT CHANGE WAS NOT YET REFLECTED IN THE CURRENT SECTIONAL CHART. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THE CTLR WAS HAVING A VERY BAD MORNING AND MY INCIDENT HAD FOLLOWED AN INCIDENT WITH A BARON. THE CTLR 'BLEW HIS STACK' AT ME AND I REMAINED POLITE DESPITE WHAT I WOULD TERM A REACTION BY HIM THAT I FELT WAS ABUSIVE.
