Narrative:
We asked clearance delivery to read back clearance a second time. He came back with maintain FL370 uj-15 tampico as filed. I took that to mean he would vector us on course, instead we figured out later departure expected us to be on PINOS2 departure which required an almost immediate climbing left turn to apan VOR on course. In the future I will make them spell out what kind of transition, if any, they expect. The transition was never mentioned.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: DEV FROM CLRNC RTE. THE FLC ASKED FOR THE CLRNC TO BE READ TO THEM TWICE, BUT THEY STILL DID NOT GET ALL OF THE INFO. THE DEP CTLR PERSON MAY NOT HAVE READ ALL OF THE CLRNC.
