Narrative:
During climb out the crew was directed to climb to 7000 ft. Because of the clouds in the area the crew was discussing the possibility of icing in the climb. With the discussion of ice and making radio calls the altitude alert was mistaken for the ice detect. The aircraft climbed to 7400 ft and ATC questioned the altitude. The crew asked for current altimeter setting and the aircraft was returned to 7000 ft. There was nothing else said.
