Narrative:

We were given a cross 110 NM west of gardner at 37000 ft. The captain discussed when he would start down. I was off the frequency then setting the ATIS (had to listen a couple times to get the NOTAMS). After getting back, I noticed we were at the fix and mentioned it. The captain started down quickly and then went through to approximately 36400 ft. He had a high rate of descent and did not want to make the level off too abrupt. I was surprised by the descent and level off. I assumed he had everything under control and should have monitored more closely.

Narrative: WE WERE GIVEN A CROSS 110 NM W OF GARDNER AT 37000 FT. THE CAPT DISCUSSED WHEN HE WOULD START DOWN. I WAS OFF THE FREQ THEN SETTING THE ATIS (HAD TO LISTEN A COUPLE TIMES TO GET THE NOTAMS). AFTER GETTING BACK, I NOTICED WE WERE AT THE FIX AND MENTIONED IT. THE CAPT STARTED DOWN QUICKLY AND THEN WENT THROUGH TO APPROX 36400 FT. HE HAD A HIGH RATE OF DSCNT AND DID NOT WANT TO MAKE THE LEVEL OFF TOO ABRUPT. I WAS SURPRISED BY THE DSCNT AND LEVEL OFF. I ASSUMED HE HAD EVERYTHING UNDER CTL AND SHOULD HAVE MONITORED MORE CLOSELY.
