Narrative:

The first officer was applying power for takeoff on runway 32 at kmob. I had not engaged the autothrottles, so we were at a very slow speed. The cockpit lights flickered and, it seems, we heard a clunking sound - an electrical relay had operated. I noticed a 'left generator off' light on the overhead annunciator panel, so we discontinued the takeoff and turned off the runway onto the parallel taxiway. I set the brakes and we got out our pilot's operating manual to analyze the problem. We reset the generator and everything was normal (volts, frequency, etc). We started the APU as a precautionary measure and then took off. We flew this aircraft to mlu and then to dfw with no further problems. It seemed to be a transient electrical problem associated with accelerating the engines. Supplemental information from acn 301124: we decided that it was a spurious light or electronic fluctuation which couldn't be duplicated and started the APU as a precaution and called for takeoff again. We re-ran the checklists and took off with no problems. Landed and took off again for dfw - again with no problems. Later decided that perhaps we should have noted something in the logbook?

Title: AIRLINE MAINT POLICY - ACR REJECTED TKOF WHEN A GENERATOR DISCONNECTED AS IT STARTED ITS ROLL. THE FLC DID EVERYTHING RIGHT EXCEPT THEY FORGOT TO ENTER THE EVENT IN THE MAINT LOG.

Narrative: THE FO WAS APPLYING PWR FOR TKOF ON RWY 32 AT KMOB. I HAD NOT ENGAGED THE AUTOTHROTTLES, SO WE WERE AT A VERY SLOW SPD. THE COCKPIT LIGHTS FLICKERED AND, IT SEEMS, WE HEARD A CLUNKING SOUND - AN ELECTRICAL RELAY HAD OPERATED. I NOTICED A 'L GENERATOR OFF' LIGHT ON THE OVERHEAD ANNUNCIATOR PANEL, SO WE DISCONTINUED THE TKOF AND TURNED OFF THE RWY ONTO THE PARALLEL TXWY. I SET THE BRAKES AND WE GOT OUT OUR PLT'S OPERATING MANUAL TO ANALYZE THE PROB. WE RESET THE GENERATOR AND EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL (VOLTS, FREQ, ETC). WE STARTED THE APU AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE AND THEN TOOK OFF. WE FLEW THIS ACFT TO MLU AND THEN TO DFW WITH NO FURTHER PROBS. IT SEEMED TO BE A TRANSIENT ELECTRICAL PROB ASSOCIATED WITH ACCELERATING THE ENGS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 301124: WE DECIDED THAT IT WAS A SPURIOUS LIGHT OR ELECTRONIC FLUCTUATION WHICH COULDN'T BE DUPLICATED AND STARTED THE APU AS A PRECAUTION AND CALLED FOR TKOF AGAIN. WE RE-RAN THE CHKLISTS AND TOOK OFF WITH NO PROBS. LANDED AND TOOK OFF AGAIN FOR DFW - AGAIN WITH NO PROBS. LATER DECIDED THAT PERHAPS WE SHOULD HAVE NOTED SOMETHING IN THE LOGBOOK?
