Narrative:
On takeoff from lax on parallel runways, the controller questioned our heading. We were on right side and an aircraft was taking off on left. We seemed to be drifting left as if the directional gyroscope was off (slaved unit). There was no conflict or evasive maneuver required by either aircraft.
