Narrative:

On dallas 9 departure we attempted to intercept the original flight plan transition radial. Center controller questioned our routing and departure control clearance. We then realized that our pre departure clearance was different than our flight plan route. Center then gave us a heading to the proper route. This navigation error occurred because both pilots missed the change of 1 NAVAID identify on the pre departure clearance. The SID and STAR were identical. Supplemental information from acn 301225: the incident was caused by inattn to detail and the similarity in text of the filed and pre departure clearance route text. Prevention of this occurrence may be accomplished by changing procedure for format of pre departure clearance or by requiring crew to call clearance delivery for a revised clearance when filed routing has changed.

Title: TRACK DEV CAUSED BY FLYING THE FLT PLAN RTE INSTEAD OF THE PDC.

Narrative: ON DALLAS 9 DEP WE ATTEMPTED TO INTERCEPT THE ORIGINAL FLT PLAN TRANSITION RADIAL. CTR CTLR QUESTIONED OUR ROUTING AND DEP CTL CLRNC. WE THEN REALIZED THAT OUR PDC WAS DIFFERENT THAN OUR FLT PLAN RTE. CTR THEN GAVE US A HDG TO THE PROPER RTE. THIS NAV ERROR OCCURRED BECAUSE BOTH PLTS MISSED THE CHANGE OF 1 NAVAID IDENT ON THE PDC. THE SID AND STAR WERE IDENTICAL. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 301225: THE INCIDENT WAS CAUSED BY INATTN TO DETAIL AND THE SIMILARITY IN TEXT OF THE FILED AND PDC RTE TEXT. PREVENTION OF THIS OCCURRENCE MAY BE ACCOMPLISHED BY CHANGING PROC FOR FORMAT OF PDC OR BY REQUIRING CREW TO CALL CLRNC DELIVERY FOR A REVISED CLRNC WHEN FILED ROUTING HAS CHANGED.
