Narrative:
Flight attendant PA not complete. Forward cabin PA handset would not work. After several attempts, handset was restored to working order and normal pretkof checklists were continued. First flight attendant did not notify captain that cabin safety briefing was not complete when final pretkof chime was sounded. Difficulty with PA system broke the flow in the cabin. Captain has counseled first flight attendant that, if for any reason the cabin is not ready for takeoff, the captain will be notified immediately.
