Narrative:
The captain was flying during this leg of the rotation. ZID issued a restr to cross lewey intersection at FL290. The captain failed to initiate the descent in time to cross lewey at FL290. ZID queried us whether we would be able to meet the crossing restr. I said no, could we get a turn for the descent. ZID issued a new clearance to FL240 and told us to continue on our course. Shortly afterward, we were changed to another ZID frequency and the flight continued without incident. Supplemental information from acn 301295: distrs in the cockpit (conversation, flight attendant offering meals, etc) led us to forget, for a time, the crossing restr. Yet another reminder that flying the plane is the first and only job. Supplemental information from acn 301216: I was flying the aircraft and level at FL330. ZID called and gave us a clearance to cross lewey intersection (on the milan 2 arrival into cvg) at FL290. I was approximately 30 mi west of lewey intersection at that time and elected to delay my descent.

SHORTLY AFTERWARD, WE WERE CHANGED TO ANOTHER ZID FREQ AND THE FLT CONTINUED WITHOUT INCIDENT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 301295: DISTRS IN THE COCKPIT (CONVERSATION, FLT ATTENDANT OFFERING MEALS, ETC) LED US TO FORGET, FOR A TIME, THE XING RESTR.
