Narrative:
About 30 mi southeast of gld we received a TCASII advisory followed a few seconds later by a TCASII resolution. (Climb - climb). Aircraft was never seen due to IMC at all times. We climbed via our RA to 31500 ft. TCASII showed aircraft passed below us at 30500 ft. We returned to FL310 and advised center of same.

Narrative: ABOUT 30 MI SE OF GLD WE RECEIVED A TCASII ADVISORY FOLLOWED A FEW SECONDS LATER BY A TCASII RESOLUTION. (CLB - CLB). ACFT WAS NEVER SEEN DUE TO IMC AT ALL TIMES. WE CLBED VIA OUR RA TO 31500 FT. TCASII SHOWED ACFT PASSED BELOW US AT 30500 FT. WE RETURNED TO FL310 AND ADVISED CTR OF SAME.
