Narrative:
Instructing a student (military cadet) doing lndgs in pattern on runway 24 (5500 ft long). A tomahawk was ahead of us on our last landing. I had student extend pattern somewhat. We landed 1/2 mi behind the tomahawk. Immediately, as the tomahawk exited the runway, its pilot was on the radio stating 'you could have at least extended the courtesy of letting me clear the runway first' plus a lot more. No reply by us was either in order or ethical. I was sorry it was our last landing because soon the irate pilot, who we did not know, was approaching us, 'who is PIC of this (our) aircraft?' we did no rebuttal and little reply and offered no apology as our 1/2 mi separation was far more than adequate for safety. (Airstrips we use most are barely 1/2 mi long.)

Title: LNDG ON OCCUPIED RWY. THIS HIGHLY EXPERIENCED INSTRUCTOR THINKS THAT THE OTHER PLT WAS WRONG TO GET UPSET WHEN THE INSTRUCTOR ALLOWED HIS STUDENT TO LAND ON THE RWY BEFORE THE OTHER PLT WAS CLR OF IT.
