Narrative:
Cruising along in piper cub 1000 ft AGL when engine became rough. Noticed nice grass strip and wind sock below. Made precautionary landing. Tightened loose plug wire. Chatted with lady at nearby house a few mins, then took off and returned to ues safely. Also, may have been carburetor ice as carburetor heat made it a little better. Anyway, glad I made a precautionary landing as engine ran fine a few mins later on runup, takeoff, and trip home. These little continentals are very prone to carburetor icer! I know a guy who put carburetor induction air temperature sensor and gauge on his cub and says he would not fly without it. Good idea.
