Narrative:
After start and taxi were normal. When cleared by ramp control to taxi to a given spot (45) I lined the aircraft slightly offset because of a commuter aircraft on my left side. The ground crew of the commuter gave me a 'clear' signal and the captain gave me a 'thumbs up.' it looked close to me so I opened the cockpit sliding window to verify the clearance. When I looked I abruptly applied the brakes and my leading edge taxi landing light (wingtip) contacted the commuter aircraft. Maintenance inspected my aircraft and found no damage. The problem arose because the commuter was parked in the wrong spot relative to his assignment and taxiing on the yellow centerline. Does not guarantee clearance if a piece of equipment is improperly parked. Contributing was that the flight crew and ground crew were giving me the 'adequate' clearance signal. Thus, despite wingtip walkers, if it looks too close, it probably is. Contributing was my reliance upon ground personnel who were not completely familiar with my aircraft.

Title: MLG GIVEN ALL CLR TO TAXI BY HIS GND PERSONNEL AND GND CREW AND FLC OF PARKED COMMUTER HAS WINGTIP CONTACT.
Narrative: AFTER START AND TAXI WERE NORMAL. WHEN CLRED BY RAMP CTL TO TAXI TO A GIVEN SPOT (45) I LINED THE ACFT SLIGHTLY OFFSET BECAUSE OF A COMMUTER ACFT ON MY L SIDE. THE GND CREW OF THE COMMUTER GAVE ME A 'CLR' SIGNAL AND THE CAPT GAVE ME A 'THUMBS UP.' IT LOOKED CLOSE TO ME SO I OPENED THE COCKPIT SLIDING WINDOW TO VERIFY THE CLRNC. WHEN I LOOKED I ABRUPTLY APPLIED THE BRAKES AND MY LEADING EDGE TAXI LNDG LIGHT (WINGTIP) CONTACTED THE COMMUTER ACFT. MAINT INSPECTED MY ACFT AND FOUND NO DAMAGE. THE PROB AROSE BECAUSE THE COMMUTER WAS PARKED IN THE WRONG SPOT RELATIVE TO HIS ASSIGNMENT AND TAXIING ON THE YELLOW CTRLINE. DOES NOT GUARANTEE CLRNC IF A PIECE OF EQUIP IS IMPROPERLY PARKED. CONTRIBUTING WAS THAT THE FLC AND GND CREW WERE GIVING ME THE 'ADEQUATE' CLRNC SIGNAL. THUS, DESPITE WINGTIP WALKERS, IF IT LOOKS TOO CLOSE, IT PROBABLY IS. CONTRIBUTING WAS MY RELIANCE UPON GND PERSONNEL WHO WERE NOT COMPLETELY FAMILIAR WITH MY ACFT.
