Narrative:
After takeoff and gear retraction, my first officer and I noticed that the nose gear did not retract. We returned for landing to find that the nose gear pin was still in place. It was removed and we continued. In retrospect, a more thorough preflight should have been accomplished.

Title: FLC OF AN LTT FORGOT TO REMOVE THE NOSE GEAR LOCKING PIN PRIOR TO TKOF AND RETURNED TO LAND FOR REMOVAL.
Narrative: AFTER TKOF AND GEAR RETRACTION, MY FO AND I NOTICED THAT THE NOSE GEAR DID NOT RETRACT. WE RETURNED FOR LNDG TO FIND THAT THE NOSE GEAR PIN WAS STILL IN PLACE. IT WAS REMOVED AND WE CONTINUED. IN RETROSPECT, A MORE THOROUGH PREFLT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHED.
