Narrative:
First officer was flying the aircraft on descent into dfw with a clearance to cross porks intersection at 11000 ft and speed 250 KIAS. I was attempting to get ATIS which was in the process of being changed to find out about severe WX approaching the field. I was also using the radar to check the storm's position. Passing FL180 we both missed changing our altimeters. On leveling at 11000 ft, I caught the mistake -- 29.92 set instead of 29.55, putting us approximately 350 ft low. We immediately climbed back and were in the process of correcting when ZFW changed us over to dfw approach. On contact with approach, they gave us a turn to intercept the localizer for runway 31R and a descent to 5000 ft which we complied with. No mention was made of the momentary altitude deviation. No traffic conflict existed to our knowledge.

Title: WX DISTR AND TASKS WERE CITED AS CONTRIBUTING TO FLC'S ALTIMETER ERROR, AND CONSEQUENT ALT OVERSHOOT.
Narrative: FO WAS FLYING THE ACFT ON DSCNT INTO DFW WITH A CLRNC TO CROSS PORKS INTXN AT 11000 FT AND SPD 250 KIAS. I WAS ATTEMPTING TO GET ATIS WHICH WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING CHANGED TO FIND OUT ABOUT SEVERE WX APCHING THE FIELD. I WAS ALSO USING THE RADAR TO CHK THE STORM'S POS. PASSING FL180 WE BOTH MISSED CHANGING OUR ALTIMETERS. ON LEVELING AT 11000 FT, I CAUGHT THE MISTAKE -- 29.92 SET INSTEAD OF 29.55, PUTTING US APPROX 350 FT LOW. WE IMMEDIATELY CLBED BACK AND WERE IN THE PROCESS OF CORRECTING WHEN ZFW CHANGED US OVER TO DFW APCH. ON CONTACT WITH APCH, THEY GAVE US A TURN TO INTERCEPT THE LOC FOR RWY 31R AND A DSCNT TO 5000 FT WHICH WE COMPLIED WITH. NO MENTION WAS MADE OF THE MOMENTARY ALTDEV. NO TFC CONFLICT EXISTED TO OUR KNOWLEDGE.
