Narrative:
After landing on runway 36, tower advised to make a right turn off runway. I did that and was taxing back to the terminal. I called ground control after I had crossed a non use runway and was told to cross runway 36 en route to the terminal. Ground control acted kind of upset, so I asked what the problem was and he responded that I should have contacted ground immediately after clearing the runway. I told him that we were not instructed to by tower and we were to stay with him. Lacrosse, wi is not a busy airport and we were going by our last instruction.
