Narrative:
The 'lax 2' departure states if departing runway 24L or runway 24R to fly heading 250 degrees and maintain 2000 ft. Flight took off on assigned runway 24L lax. After takeoff and departure check-in, we were given 3000 ft and traffic to our 1 O'clock position at 1500 ft. The captain was flying, I was the first officer. After looking for traffic I observed we were turning left, I told the captain the (SID) required heading (250 degrees). He misread 220 degree heading for runway 25L not (24L) our runway: so we turned back towards heading of 250 degrees. By this time departure control questioned our turn. We explained what happened. The captain was appreciative of myself being heads up and catching his mistake. He admitted he just misread the SID. Supplemental information from acn 303647:I turned to heading 220 degrees prescribed for runway 25. I have no explanation for my action other than we landed on runway 25 and my mind was on runway 25 maybe. The first officer caught my turn back to FL250, but the controller told us to turn left 190 degrees which I did, before he changed us to the next frequency. He told us that we should have maintained heading 250 degrees, which we acknowledged. I really have no explanation other than a brain-fart. I have over 16000 hours and this is the first and I hope the last time I make this type of error.

Title: SEASONED ACR PIC ADMITS TO A RPTR INDUCED ERROR OF A HDG TRACK DEV DURING THE LAX 2 DEP SID PROC AT LAX.
Narrative: THE 'LAX 2' DEP STATES IF DEPARTING RWY 24L OR RWY 24R TO FLY HDG 250 DEGS AND MAINTAIN 2000 FT. FLT TOOK OFF ON ASSIGNED RWY 24L LAX. AFTER TKOF AND DEP CHK-IN, WE WERE GIVEN 3000 FT AND TFC TO OUR 1 O'CLOCK POS AT 1500 FT. THE CAPT WAS FLYING, I WAS THE FO. AFTER LOOKING FOR TFC I OBSERVED WE WERE TURNING L, I TOLD THE CAPT THE (SID) REQUIRED HDG (250 DEGS). HE MISREAD 220 DEG HDG FOR RWY 25L NOT (24L) OUR RWY: SO WE TURNED BACK TOWARDS HDG OF 250 DEGS. I HAVE OVER 16000 HRS AND THIS IS THE FIRST AND I HOPE THE LAST TIME I MAKE THIS TYPE OF ERROR.
