Narrative:
The aircraft was assigned a climb to 10000 ft. I gave the '9000 ft for 10000 ft' call climbing through 9000 ft. Also checked the altitude on the FMS system. All was set correctly either preselect on the autoplt wasn't set or the autoplt failed to capture the altitude. Since we exceeded 10000 ft (went to 10400 ft). However, this particular captain has a long history of safety problems which are always ignored by the director of aviation for our department. The only solution is for me to be more alert with this captain.

Title: A CORPORATE JET FLC CLBED THROUGH ASSIGNED ALT DURING DEP.
Narrative: THE ACFT WAS ASSIGNED A CLB TO 10000 FT. I GAVE THE '9000 FT FOR 10000 FT' CALL CLBING THROUGH 9000 FT. ALSO CHKED THE ALT ON THE FMS SYS. ALL WAS SET CORRECTLY EITHER PRESELECT ON THE AUTOPLT WASN'T SET OR THE AUTOPLT FAILED TO CAPTURE THE ALT. SINCE WE EXCEEDED 10000 FT (WENT TO 10400 FT). HOWEVER, THIS PARTICULAR CAPT HAS A LONG HISTORY OF SAFETY PROBS WHICH ARE ALWAYS IGNORED BY THE DIRECTOR OF AVIATION FOR OUR DEPT. THE ONLY SOLUTION IS FOR ME TO BE MORE ALERT WITH THIS CAPT.
