Narrative:
Left engine developed oil pressure problems soon after takeoff. Decided to return to dtw. While descending and turning toward dtw, oil pressure indicator went to '0.' captain shut down the engine. Declared an emergency with ATC all of which I was in agreement with. However, we then overflew 2 suitable airports just to return the aircraft to our hangar so maintenance and the passenger wouldn't be inconvenienced. What about safety?
