Narrative:
On approach to tpa we were cleared for a visual approach to runway 36R and told to switch to tower frequency 119.5. We switched frequency (believe we checked in), and were cleared to land. We did not hear any other xmissions from tower or any other airplanes until upon landing rollout we heard tower say 'if you can hear this transmission contact ground 121.7 for taxi.' we were immediately concerned so we checked our frequency and found it was on 119.5. We switched to ground and they cleared us to taxi and told us to contact the tower via telephone. The tower told us they had tried to contact us numerous times and were surprised we heard the last transmission. We feel we either had a radio problem or we just missed the calls. This was our 4TH day of 8 leg duty days and we were on leg #7. We also now use the taxi light switch as a 'cleared to land' indicator. Supplemental information from acn 305694: I do believe fatigue played into this. It was our 18TH or 19TH landing and I had commented to the other pilot on this earlier in the day.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: EMB-120 FLC LANDED WITHOUT A CLRNC. TWR INTERVENED AFTER ACFT LANDED.
Narrative: ON APCH TO TPA WE WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 36R AND TOLD TO SWITCH TO TWR FREQ 119.5. WE SWITCHED FREQ (BELIEVE WE CHKED IN), AND WERE CLRED TO LAND. WE DID NOT HEAR ANY OTHER XMISSIONS FROM TWR OR ANY OTHER AIRPLANES UNTIL UPON LNDG ROLLOUT WE HEARD TWR SAY 'IF YOU CAN HEAR THIS XMISSION CONTACT GND 121.7 FOR TAXI.' WE WERE IMMEDIATELY CONCERNED SO WE CHKED OUR FREQ AND FOUND IT WAS ON 119.5. WE SWITCHED TO GND AND THEY CLRED US TO TAXI AND TOLD US TO CONTACT THE TWR VIA TELEPHONE. THE TWR TOLD US THEY HAD TRIED TO CONTACT US NUMEROUS TIMES AND WERE SURPRISED WE HEARD THE LAST XMISSION. WE FEEL WE EITHER HAD A RADIO PROB OR WE JUST MISSED THE CALLS. THIS WAS OUR 4TH DAY OF 8 LEG DUTY DAYS AND WE WERE ON LEG #7. WE ALSO NOW USE THE TAXI LIGHT SWITCH AS A 'CLRED TO LAND' INDICATOR. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 305694: I DO BELIEVE FATIGUE PLAYED INTO THIS. IT WAS OUR 18TH OR 19TH LNDG AND I HAD COMMENTED TO THE OTHER PLT ON THIS EARLIER IN THE DAY.
