Narrative:
On takeoff from mnl gear interlock did not release. I checked gear tilt and found right body tilt light illuminated in both primary and alternate. We contacted tower and returned to the airport landing at approximately 550000 pounds gross weight. Maintenance was performed and the logbook signed off. We took off again and repeated the events we had just experienced. After landing again the problem was fixed and the log signed. Our third takeoff was uneventful.
