Narrative:

During touch-and-go landing practice on runway 9, the student apparently landed with brakes locked. Directional control was lost abruptly and the student verbally relinquished control, while still applying rudder. The aircraft (C-150) stabilized on a 060 degree heading straight for a runway light. I was unable to steer the aircraft back onto the runway, despite my application of full right rudder. I then tried left rudder and was able to steer to left of the light onto the grass. We bounced along on the grass and I was then able to steer back onto the runway. We taxied back for takeoff.
