Narrative:
During touch-and-go landing practice on runway 9, the student apparently landed with brakes locked. Directional control was lost abruptly and the student verbally relinquished control, while still applying rudder. The aircraft (C-150) stabilized on a 060 degree heading straight for a runway light. I was unable to steer the aircraft back onto the runway, despite my application of full right rudder. I then tried left rudder and was able to steer to left of the light onto the grass. We bounced along on the grass and I was then able to steer back onto the runway. We taxied back for takeoff.

Title: STUDENT PLT OF AN SMA SEL LOST CTL OF ACFT DURING LNDG AND WENT OFF SIDE OF RWY.
Narrative: DURING TOUCH-AND-GO LNDG PRACTICE ON RWY 9, THE STUDENT APPARENTLY LANDED WITH BRAKES LOCKED. DIRECTIONAL CTL WAS LOST ABRUPTLY AND THE STUDENT VERBALLY RELINQUISHED CTL, WHILE STILL APPLYING RUDDER. THE ACFT (C-150) STABILIZED ON A 060 DEG HDG STRAIGHT FOR A RWY LIGHT. I WAS UNABLE TO STEER THE ACFT BACK ONTO THE RWY, DESPITE MY APPLICATION OF FULL R RUDDER. I THEN TRIED L RUDDER AND WAS ABLE TO STEER TO L OF THE LIGHT ONTO THE GRASS. WE BOUNCED ALONG ON THE GRASS AND I WAS THEN ABLE TO STEER BACK ONTO THE RWY. WE TAXIED BACK FOR TKOF.
