Narrative:
Taxiing for departure, advised tower ready. Tower replied cross runway 14L position (?) runway 14R. Before readback, captain said get runway 14L (longer). We have 1 min left. I asked tower for runway 14L. They replied it was closed (nightly). I replied we have 1 min left. No tower reply. Captain transmitted we have 30 seconds, request runway 14L. Tower said runway 14L closed, cross runway 14L position (?) runway 14R. I read back cross runway 14L position and hold runway 14R. We taxied into position runway 14R and tower told the air carrier on final approach to go around and asked us why we positioned. We should not have squabbled over the closed runway. Controller was hard to understand, his english was accented. Little rest, 10 hours in sel (korea) but with bus ride approximately 8 hours in hotel, eat and prepare, approximately 4-5 hours sleep. Should have verified position and hold and gotten a reply, not just transmit (in the blind).
