Narrative:

After takeoff, during our noise abatement power reduction, the oil temperature on #2 engine rose into the yellow zone. At that time the decision was made to return to atl. During descent, the oil temperature exceeded the maximum. The engine was shutdown and an emergency was declared with atl approach. Atl approach control was instrumental in providing vectors and traffic priority. An uneventful single engine approach and landing was accomplished.
