Narrative:

I was giving some family members a ride to find their house. It was located close to the airport. I was on radar all the time. We found the house and circled. While talking to them I lost about 400 ft of altitude, which may have put me lower than was legal in that area. There was no danger. Then approach told me enter left downwind for runway 27 and contact tower. My niece started asking me questions and I completely forgot to contact tower. Not until I touched down did I realize I landed without a clearance. Approach and tower never contacted me again. I switched to tower and told them where I was going, they said nothing about me landing without a clearance.

Title: POSSIBLE VIOLATION OF FAR 91 PT 79 REGARDING LOW ALT CIVIL OP AND UNAUTH LNDG.

Narrative: I WAS GIVING SOME FAMILY MEMBERS A RIDE TO FIND THEIR HOUSE. IT WAS LOCATED CLOSE TO THE ARPT. I WAS ON RADAR ALL THE TIME. WE FOUND THE HOUSE AND CIRCLED. WHILE TALKING TO THEM I LOST ABOUT 400 FT OF ALT, WHICH MAY HAVE PUT ME LOWER THAN WAS LEGAL IN THAT AREA. THERE WAS NO DANGER. THEN APCH TOLD ME ENTER L DOWNWIND FOR RWY 27 AND CONTACT TWR. MY NIECE STARTED ASKING ME QUESTIONS AND I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO CONTACT TWR. NOT UNTIL I TOUCHED DOWN DID I REALIZE I LANDED WITHOUT A CLRNC. APCH AND TWR NEVER CONTACTED ME AGAIN. I SWITCHED TO TWR AND TOLD THEM WHERE I WAS GOING, THEY SAID NOTHING ABOUT ME LNDG WITHOUT A CLRNC.
