Narrative:
I was at 3000 ft being vectored for the localizer 25 approach. ATC instructed a turn to 270 degrees and that the turn be expedited. During this turn and increased bank angle, I did not maintain altitude and did not begin correction until I was at 2800 ft. This situation occurred because I was thinking about the CDI too much and did not continue the normal scan of instruments. Stupid error. Intend to get with instructor.
